- he had no way to defend himself. There is no way he can show he has an alibi or that the truth is different than the allegation.
-he apparently cannot show his character is different than what is being alleged, no matter how many people who know him say differently. I used to believe that in order to defend myself against baseless accusations all I needed to do was love a life where all my friends would say, "She would never do that." But apparently that's not enough.
- Nancy Pelosi is not interested in the truth. She is interested in using this for political gain. If she were interested in the truth she would have brought up the letter earlier.
- Beto O'Rourke (and many other Democrats) have had their moments of youthful indiscretion. Some even (Clinton) not so youthful. Do they get disqualified? No. Because they are Democrats.
So there are two strains of being bothered: the legal strain, where who you are changes whether or not you will be believed. And the political strain, where people are trying to manipulate the system to get power.
Any answers out there? I've got none. My friends says this is lose lose. I agree.
